Journal Week 9: Transaction
Two transactions that i have not completely got yet are Activision Blizzard Inc. (ATVI) and Columbia Sports wear company (COLM).
ATVI i think is a good stock to trade and there are a few reasons why i think so. First reason is the fact that its winter and the "hills" are covered and kids, teens, and parents love to go snowing boarding and be outdoors. This is an amazing stock to get for this season because its such a good brand. Another reason why i think its a good stock is because the boyz that don't like to be out doors in the cold this stock produces all sorts of games and kids will be wanting to buy more games so thy can keep themselves busy inside. In the 52 week range this stock is going to go from 10.40 to 14.40 supposedly. And the charts show that starting at such a low percent this stock is doing very well and looks as if all its going to do is keep rising. Today its up .12%, and it's competitors are (ERTS) Electronic art and (SNE) Sony Corporation Stock. ERTS is below ATVI and will hopefully continue to stay there. And SNE is below both the other stocks and does not look like it will be increasing, so its not to much of a worry.
COLM is a good trade becuase of their coats and and other clothing accessories. Why? Because in the winter time people love to go snow climing, ice fishing, hunting, and sleding. I think this would be a great stock becuase of it being hunting season and getting into winter people are going to need warmer and steadier clothing to protect them out in the cold. In the 52 week range for COLM is shows that this stock is suppose to be going from 41.13 to 70.64; thats amazing almost 30 dollars. On the chart it shows that COLM started out poor and is doing good and keeps rising. One of COLM's competitors is NKE aka Nike. On the charts COLM was doing so much better the NKE, but now their sort of tying. Another competitor COLM has is Industry; Apparel clothing. this stock does not look to good, as of right now its down .86%. And on the chart this stock started out well then slowly started dropping and is at a continuous drop.

Journal for Week 9: Before hand of interveiw
I already called Lupe the lady i am job shadowing and it went perfectly fine. I know her so it was quick and painless. Im excited to miss a day of school considering the fact that i get to watch someone do something i enjoy doing. I finally get to know the deep details of it all and maybe experience myself, but im very shy so its kind of nerve racking to know im going to be at a place full a different people all day that i have never met. She told me to come with a good attitude and be very open with people im sure i can do it, lets hope. I cant wait to see how the world works in a beautitions eyes.

60 minutes- insiders- questions
1. what is your opinion of the topic of the video? Explain why.
I think its unfair because of the fact that the senators make money off knowing all this information and when we try to get the info its against the law. I believe that they should be treated like us supposedly we're all "equal" well that doesnt show everyone being treated equal. I think that if they get the info they shouldnt be able to make money off of it and we should be able to get the info as well without getting in trouble with the law.
2.What can you do about your opinion? How can you make your opinion count?
Im pretty sure i cant do anything about my opinion except voice it. But i could make it count by writing a persuasive paper explaing what i think about it and why they should change it up.
3. what is insider trading? what was the information that caused martha stewart to prison?
Insider trading- people knowing stuff about trades before the public. The info that caused martha to go to prison was the fact that she was an inside trader and she lied about inside trading. And her lying is the big part of why she went to prison.
4. what is black friday and when did it get its name? and what is cyber monday?
Black friday first got its name on October 29, 1929 the day after thanksgiving. It gots its name from the stock market being crashed and everyone losing their money. Black friday is when everyone goes out shopping becuase all the prices drop. Cyber monday is the following monday after Black friday and is the day for all the online shoppers to shop online because all the online prices go down as well.

Journal for Week 8:
This week i am making an investment on two different stocks. One is the (ABT) Abbott Laboratories. It looks like a very good stock. In 1985 though it started out very low, but then began to rise. In the 52 week range it states that this stock is going to go from 45 to about 56 dollars. ABT has a dividend of 1.92 which is 3.60%. Its competitors are Merck and Company Inc. and Roche HLDG LTD Spons. Merck started out alright then dropped a little bit. Roche started out better then both these stocks but then severley dropped. So right now Abbott is doing better then any of them.
The other stock im thinking about making a trade in is CPB (Campbell Soup Co.). This stock i believe will be doing very good do to the weather. Since it is cold more people are going to be wanting soup instead of anything else because its a quick meal. In the 52 week range for this its suppose to go up from 29.69 to 35.66. And even though im thinking about doing this as a trade it has a dividend of 1.16(3.50%). This stock started out pretty good, then had a sudden drop, but is now going up. Its competitors are GSI (General Mills co.) and HNZ (Heinz Company). GSI started out good, but now its doing horrible. HNZ didn't have the best start out but it also dropped way lower. So in this case as of right now CPB is the best stock.

candy stock:
I arrived in a crowded area everyone seemed nervous and jittery. I began to ask around what was going on then i heard i loud voice interupt "extra layers off!" Then i started to be one of the worried souls. I looked around and thats when the teacher began to number us off; being put with a random kid that i didnt really know stressed me out. Why? Because i wasnt sure what we were doing first off and also because i was confused. As we arrived into the dark baby sized room i took a worried glance at my partner before listening to the teachers instructions. After the teacher anounced we were gathering candy to make trades and looked at my partner once again and swallowed my pride. We then frantically gathered all the candy we possibly could; the buzzer(teacher) notified us time was up. We didn't do to bad. People scurrying everywhere trying to make trades and me worrying made it ten times hotter in the room. Wondering teens came up to us asking us for trades that didn't make sense, but the hardest thing to do was say no, because we didn't know what stock was going to go up, down, or stay the same. After a while of working with my partner and making decisions the game kind of got a little bit easier. We didn't make so many trades even though some people wanted to make un fair ones; tchae and i kept to ourselves half the time. By the end of the game so worn out and hot we had to ount our money and see if we even compared to the other teams. Close? Kind of. We ended the game with about 3200 dollars. To get out of such a small humid place was such an amazment.

If we are running out of money i try to build more business's and housing to keep it busy and to continue getting money.

I like to get taxi stations and bus staions and things for people to use them so it keeps people getting money.

I i try to plan how much money i have to build something and make sure i have enough money7 to complete it in a certain amount of time. I also make sure i have enough money for roads, water, electricity, vehicles. ect. I like to make sure that i have enough money to do what i want before i just start spending it wildly and lose all of it.
4.) Students evaluate the impact of technology and how it has shaped history and influenced the modern world?
I add more services so i can get more money to get more buildings and people.

1.) Students analize current events to better understand the world in which they live?
i use to money signs and the ventures to help my realize the current events going on so i know what needs taken care of.
2.) Students explain how past events help impact the present and future.
Like we realize that if we waisted money or used to much on stuff then we can break down and actually plan out what we are going to do before we do it so it helps us instead of put us with no money.

We use the charts and graphs that pop up to determine what we need and what we have money for, or also what we need to do to get more money.
